Cordiant SF the third champion in Celestial trophy
Cordiant Sports Foundation is only the third champion in the history of Celestial Trophy Cricket tournament.SBT have been dominating the tournament winning twelve out of the thirteen previous occasions.In 2005 Swantons became the champions beating Cycle Brand Kids CC when SBT lost to Kids in the Semi Final

Cordiant Sports Foundation new Celestial trophy Champion
Cordiant Sports Foundation has lifted the 14th All Kerala Celestial Trophy Cricket tournament.In the final held at Medical college ground Trivandrum they crushed city Cricketers by 144 runs.Arun poulose scored a fantastic century to make a platform for the team to set a target of 278.Rizwan(48) and Tejas (36) made use of the situation while VS shiju picked up 3 wkts for the City team.
City Cricketers never looked eying for the target as they got bowled for a paultry 134 runs in 35.1 overs.only Shiju 42 made some reistance

Cordiant To meet City in the Final
Cordiant Sports Foundation beat Pattara Swantons CC in the semi final by a convincing 8 wkts .For Cordiant Madan mohan who made a brilliant 78 alog with Rajilal who made 52 made things look very simple as the winning run came in the 24th over.earlier Manukrishnan(2/35) and shahid(3/32) played a big part in restricting Swantons CC to just 154 inspite of a dream start of 70 /0 in the 6 overs
Once the amn in form Abhishek Hegde got out for 62 in 37 balls the wickets started falling like nine pins.wicket keeper Raji Lal created a record in wicket Keeping by claiming 8 victims (6 catches and 2 stumpings)
In the first Semi Final,City Cricketers survived some anxious moments to beat Masters Cricket club by 4 wickets.Masters CC made 159/9 in 30 overs.P M Anfal made another fifty while Manikantan made 30 in 21 balls.City lost some early wickets but Akhil viswanath (42) along with Sachin Mohan (25)steadied the innings before P prasanth (35 no)cosolidated the innings along with young sanju samson(27)

Cordiant sports foundation Ernakulam defeated host Murugan CC by 54 runs.CSF made195/8 in 30 thanks to a fourth wicket stand of 102 runs between Tejas (79) and Rizwan(51).mcc started well and looked good at one stage at 94/1 in 16 overs.But then wickets fell at regular intervals and the innings collaped .Only Mahesh(62) made some impact with the bat.

swantons beat Muthoot ECC by 29 runs to enter the semi finals of the tournament.Swantons with the help of Abhishek Hegde (66) and Pious K Joseph (46) made a good total of 172 .the lackadasical attitude of the ECC batsmen cost the match dearer.for ECC wickets fell in regular intervals and that triggered the down fall.

Masters CC set up the biggest upset in the History of Celestial trophy by beating SBT by 3 wickets, scoring the winning runs ith just two balls to spare.Allround display by P M Anfal 3/36 and50 runs and his 90 run partnership with AliAsgar formed the plat form for Masters victory.But it was a cameo innings from Manikantan the Masters\\\' captain(24 in 8 balls )that brought the match to Masters Kitty.

KRL loses to City cricketers
City Cricketers defeated BPCL KRL by 6wkts in the first quarter final match held at agriculture College ground.
Batting first after a much delayed start due to thick fog KRL made a moderate total of 129 runs.
it was Sandeep R Nair(3/31)and Shiju VS(4/27) who curtailed the KRL innings.

Celestial Trophy
Fourteenth All Kerala Celestial Trophy Cricket Tournament embarks on 15th January 2009 at Medical College Ground, Trivandrum. Almost all state players are expected to participate in the tournament representing 32 major clubs from all over the state. The tournament expected to be a big draw in terms of spectator interest and team participation, as in the previous years.
